The PIONEER VICE CHANCELLOR, KOGI STATE UNIVERSITY, KABBA

Prof. K.I.T Eniola started his formal education at AWA Nursery School Dan-Tukur Road, Kaduna, Kaduna State in 1973; He proceeded to Command Children School, Dan-Tukur Road, Kaduna in 1975. He was admitted to Titcombe College Egbe, Kwara State now Kogi State in 1980 for his secondary school education.

In 1985, he went for his Advanced Level Studies at School of Basic Studies Kwara State College of Technology Ilorin, (Kwara State Polytechnic) Ilorin. In 1988 he was admitted to the University of Ilorin to study Micro biology. He went on to obtain a Master and PhD degree in Environmental Microbiology from the same University.

K.I.T Eniola joined the services of the University of Ilorin as an Assistant Lecturer in 1998. For his unique characteristics He was a member of the coordinating committee of ASUU Unilorin and was elected as a delegate to the ASUU National delegate Conference in 2000.

In 2008 he joined the services of Joseph Ayo Babalola University Ikeji-Arakeji, Osun State where he rose to the rank of professor in Environmental and Public Health Microbiology. He has held various positions including: Academic level adviser, time table officer, examination officer, SIWES coordinator, Head of Department, Director of Academic Planning, Director of Research Planning, Dean (Student Affairs, College of Post Graduate Studies) etc. He has chaired several committees which include University ceremonies committee, sports committee, research committee, accreditation committee, Post COVID19 committee and several ad-hoc committees. He was acting Vice Chancellor Joseph Ayo Babalola University from April to September 2022.

He is a fellow of Nigeria Society of Microbiology and member of several learned societies. He is so passionate about the use of technology in learning delivery. He also passionately advocates the use of microbial technology to solve problems, which he calls MMM (Money Making Microbiology) or Entrepreneurial Microbiology, which he has presented at conferences, and other speaking engagements in Institutions across the Country. He is active in research as he has over 60 publications to his credit and over 500 scholars globally.

He is currently the Vice Chancellor of Kogi State University, kabba. As the pioneer Vice Chancellor, he has successfully admit over 1000 students who completed their first academic year from January - October 2024, and within the course of the first session has made remarkable achievement under his leadership.

Prof. KIT Eniola as a visionary leader has established KOSUKAB ventures and KOSUKAB consults respectively as a way of creating internally generated revenue for the University.
